    Rusted Charcoal Canister Brackets

Wow, I'm surprised that, with all of the rusty 4Runners out there, there isn't any history or workarounds for this yet. I've seen mentions of relocation of the canister, but that is probably using the existing brackets.

    Rusted Charcoal Canister Brackets

While undercoating this past winter, I discovered that my charcoal canister was hanging loose after both mounting brackets rusted through. I'm not finding any options to replace just the brackets, even though they appear to be removable. Absent replacing the brackets, what are my other...

    Transmission Line Leak

Thanks, all! After I posted, I actually crawled under the car and saw those two transmission lines. Thanks for the part number. I just ordered the Dorman part from Amazon and it was only $59. The two longer lines to the tranny were replaced a couple of years ago and they still look brand...

    Transmission Line Leak

Hi, I got stranded yesterday with no shift with the transmission. Quickly realized I had a fluid leak and think I've located it, but can't ID the part. Looks like an easy fix (famous last words), although I fear this may be a power steering line. Anyone know the part number of the line to the...

    Power Steering Leak...lower return line

To follow up on this, the part I mention above was the correct part number. Not easy on my vehicle due to limited space in the engine bay, rusty bolts, and super tight, firm hoses. Difficulties in changing: 1) Rusty bolts. Both are 12 mm and the one on top of the frame rail required an...

    Power Steering Leak...lower return line

I have an '08 V8 and have a leak in the metal line clamped to the top of the frame rail on driver's side. Getting a bit confused on the terminology (upper/lower, high pressure/low pressure, gear to cooler, etc.) Is this the correct replacement part? Amazon.com Also at Rock: More Information...

    Creaking Steering Wheel

I'm getting the same creaking in a 4th gen. It's definitely coming from inside the cabin at the pivot point of the steering wheel. Wondering where I can/should shoot some silicone lubricant into to quiet it down.

    P0420 & P0430 Codes

Just as an FYI, and hopefully this helps someone else. I have a '08 V8 4WD 4Runner that was giving me the P0430 code. I've read both that it is on the driver's side and passenger side, but most seemed confident that it was a driver's side issue on the V8. Wrong. I tried everything on the...

What should my next steps be? P0430 and P0420

    P0430

Anyone tried this product for the P0430 code? Amazon.com: EVIL ENERGY M18 x 1.5 O2 Oxygen Sensor Restrictor Fitting Adjustable Gas Flow Inserts Cel Fix Bung: Automotive I installed it using the middle adapter but the code came back within a week. Do I now move to the more restrictive/closed...

Write-up: How to Disable (Bypass) the TPMS

I tried to do this (except with the pink/black and black/red wires) with my '08 V8 Limited and couldn't get it to work. I even tried it with the pink/black and white/black wires just to be sure. A couple of ideas: 1) Will the TPMS light be off immediately when starting the vehicle, or does it...

Burning rubber smell right rear fender well.

After all these years and still no answer on this one, and no real leads either. Amazing given all of the knowledge and willpower on these T4R forums. Really perplexing. I only notice it when towing and after going up large hills, so basically when taxing the engine or drivetrain. Since it's...

    XREAS Replacement Advice

Since I'm up to 142,000 miles on these springs and have towed a near-max heavy load numerous times, do you think it's worth replacing the springs while I'm back there installing the air bags anyway? How do I tell if the current springs are worn/shot?

    XREAS Replacement Advice

I think I'll go that route; thanks for the friendly advice. Appreciate the offer for the parts, but being in Vermont, I'm literally almost as far away as I can get from you in the U.S.!

    XREAS Replacement Advice

No rear air suspension (that's the leveling option, right?). I'm hoping with the right springs and shocks, I'll be able to avoid the need for airbags since I'm towing just a few times a year and no more than 30 miles at a time.
