Transmission Line Leak

Hi, I got stranded yesterday with no shift with the transmission. Quickly realized I had a fluid leak and think I've located it, but can't ID the part. Looks like an easy fix (famous last words), although I fear this may be a power steering line.

Anyone know the part number of the line to the right? Looking down from the front of the vehicle in front of the radiator/trans cooler. You can see the rupture toward the bottom.

Believe this is the part you'll need. p/n 3290760071
It a combo of the feed and return lines w/two brackets that'll attached to front frame just under radiator.

I bought the lines from Autozone and it was a Dorman, their PN: 624-279 for $99.35 including tax. High quality, fit perfect been installed since July, 2023.
It is both steel tubes and they tie together just like the original.

Apologies. Was working on my '05 T4R this morning and noticed that the leaking line you indicated in your pic is actually the return line from the power steering rack back to reservoir. The two lines mentioned in my previous reply and rdruss are the feed and return lines from the transmission. Size of steel line is 3/8" and you can easily DIY. Online OEM Toyota parts supplier, p/n 4442035201 shows an insane price of CDN$245.00

I'm forgetting you mentioned no shift from your tranny. Like rdruss, I too had to replace the two ( feed & return ) lines from tranny when rust ate thro' one of them. Perhaps its coinsidence but do check the two lines also under the radiator AND the two long steel lines coming directly from the tranny to join up with short lengths of flex lines to the two under the radiator. I lost my tranny 3 years ago( cost me $4200.00 for a complete rebuild) when it ran dry from these rusty line breaks and subsequent leaks.

Thanks, all! After I posted, I actually crawled under the car and saw those two transmission lines. Thanks for the part number. I just ordered the Dorman part from Amazon and it was only $59.

The two longer lines to the tranny were replaced a couple of years ago and they still look brand new.

Now I just need to figure out the procedure for refilling everything. Just keep topping off , then running until it reaches the appropriate level?

You have a dipstick-less tranny so "checking it" isn't as easy. I'm sure others will chime in but just a FYI.

There is a vid from The Car Care Nut that showed a step by step of filling procedure for a dipstickless tranny. Believe vid was of a Camry but procedure is the same for your T4R as well.

Final fluid level in tranny is a procedure. Best done if you have a readout of tranny temp.
Basically you overfill a small amount-then at the correct temperature you open the special drain plug that is connected to a pipe inside tranny. When fluid dribbles you put this special plug back in.
My Scanguage 2 provides tranny temp and dozens of other readings thru OBD2.
Verify your year and model 4runner outputs the tranny temp thru the OBD2. It is a handy tool- I have mine attached all the time for reading my tire pressure.
