    Tired of the Bilsteins

So 4 years ago I bought a 2008 2wd that had what I thought was really soft suspension, especially since I just got out of a 2000 which was pretty firm. After perusing this very forum I put Bilstein 5100's all around. Now 4 years later I've had enough of the harsh-to-me ride. So much so that I...

    What is this??

I had to research it too. I started using it and now think its pretty cool. In fact, I didn't put a replacement bag on after taking out the trash one time, and immediately regretted it. Easy to put trash in there from the drivers seat. Very useful to me.

    New 4th gen

Now that this runner handles great, has enough power for me, I'm noticing that it doesn't seem to brake as well as I'd prefer. The calipers make some noise when I back out of or pull into a parking spot, and this lump doesn't stop as quickly/smoothly as the 3rd gen it replaced. Is a regular...

Vibration at 65 mph to 80

I HAD the same issue on 2000 2wd. Sound/vibe just appeared one morning outta the blue. Rotated the bought some new tires after having a couple tire shops look at it. Vibration got terrible, felt like truck would come apart. Mech said tranny first, then offered $500 for 200k mile 3rd gen. Got...

    New 4th gen

Back to the mods... I'm AMAZED at the improved handling the bils give this lump. I changed out the sway bar bushings at the same time so I dunno if it is them or the shocks that did it, but this truck turns and steers so much better. The ride height is perfect for me, a little taller than...

    New 4th gen

Hopefully! The shop that replaced it said a local carpet company had something like 10 trucks parked in their yard and all of the cats were stolen one night. I've heard thieves will steal them off vehicles while people are in the grocery store or Wal-mart....follow them to the store, wait...

    Swaybar Bushing Upgrade

I kinda forgot which thread I was posting in. The sway bar bushings listed above fit like a glove. Mech said they "went right on with no problems" Goldrunner

    Swaybar Bushing Upgrade

Just picked up the Goldrunner from my mechanic. He initially installed the spring seats upside down and gave Goldie 4 inches of front lift. After I pointed out his error he re- installed and now I have bilstiens all around. Before: front. 18" center of hub to fender Rear. 21"...

    New 4th gen

I had a different shop install a "cat lock" system today. The catalytic converter was sawed off my '00 about 7 months after I got it back in '08. I had no idea about this plague back then. 300 bones, hope it makes the scumbags go somewhere else for their fix....

Thanks Stuck. I viewed that, but still didn't understand the procedure. I have since discovered that to adjust the height the coils must be removed. I have decades of experience adjusting spring rates on motorcycles and ATV's so I ASSUMED these would be similar. Put the spanner on it and turn...

Yeah, looking at the "billies". How are these adjusted? Do you have to jack up the truck or what? Haven't been able find the actual procedure for this.
