Vibration at 65 mph to 80

I HAD the same issue on 2000 2wd. Sound/vibe just appeared one morning outta the blue. Rotated the bought some new tires after having a couple tire shops look at it. Vibration got terrible, felt like truck would come apart. Mech said tranny first, then offered $500 for 200k mile 3rd gen.

Got set for tranny rebuild an same mech called with great news.

Bad u-joint. Replaced that for $206.

Low hum still there >60 mph for 1 year /22k miles. Mech can't figure it out

I traded in on 2008 4runner, still wonder about the problem.

Hope someone figures it out. 225k on the 2000. Should have another 100k in it for whoever gets it.

Still miss that truck....

Just bought a 2003 Limited with 38,800 miles from CarMax. Right after purchase got out on some smooth highway and began feeling light vibration through steering wheel starting at 67 mph through 73 mph (as fast as I dared in 65 zone with TN state Troopers working heavily). Vibrations got worse as speed increased. Reading these posts I will quickly get a test drive after back in shop today and tomorrow for timing belt and water pump and resolving the vibration issue by balancing and rotating tires...

I think CarMax has a return policy if you decide not to keep it, form what I head 100% money back

I have about the same problem, but I have a few things I know it could be. Sway bar bushings are starting to look bad. I know my rotors have been warped seance my trip to Jerome a few years ago. Sure my drums are not in any better shape. Lastly I found out the the weights to balance my tires are falling apart, lesson learned to not buy tires at Walmart -_-
