Wheels and lift for Salsa Red Pearl

Hello everyone, I had to trade off my 03 4Runner V8 due to a rusty frame and numerous other parts that needed replaced. I did keep my TRD 17" matte gray wheels in anticipation of acquiring a Silver, Dark Gray, Black, or White 4 runner. But I found a good deal on a high mileage 2011 in Salsa Red...

    rear hatch won't stay closed

Update: I installed a new latch mechanism and everything is working 100% as it should. I think the first replacement I got 7 months ago was a dud. While it worked fine for a while, it did forget how to operate a couple times before completely failing. I think the sensors/electronics in these...

    rear hatch won't stay closed

Thanks hankd, The latch is just 7 months old and actually very clean. It seems to cycle normally. It just unlatches every time now. I've ordered another latch assembly, will install on Thursday. If that doesn't solve the problem, I'll have to hit up the u-pull yard for one of those...

    rear hatch won't stay closed

Hello everyone, I replaced the latch mechanism in the rear door about 7 months ago with the Amazon part someone posted, and I followed the computer reset as outlined in a thread here somewhere.. Everything was good. Last week I opened the back and when closing it, the mechanism now cycles like...

    brake pedal sometimes goes mushy

Well, I checked my wheel bearings and the right front is toast. I also listened for the electric motor on the master cylinder. Every 3 pedal pushes I could hear the motor turn on for a few seconds, then shut off. So I'm thinking it is ok.. I'll have the wheel bearing replaced and see how the...

    brake pedal sometimes goes mushy

Oh, I should have stated that the brakes were bled about 2 months ago when a faulty caliper was replaced under warranty.

    brake pedal sometimes goes mushy

Hello everyone! I've recently had the brake pedal on my 03 Runner sometimes go mushy.. Like it takes a lot of travel to start engaging the brakes. It's probably 50/50 now working correctly or requiring extra travel. Also, if it does require extra travel, I can then "pump up" the pedal and force...

    dash light christmas tree

Had the codes read at autozone..said "speed sensor a". How much are these to have replaced?

    dash light christmas tree

So yesterday was a bad day for the ol 4Runner. 03 V8 Sport, 190k miles. -10 to 0 degrees air temp. 1. Upon initial startup in the morning the VSC, VSC Off, Brake and ABS light were all on. I figured it was a wheel speed sensor not working from the extreme cold. These lights did go off at one...

    Tacoma TRD vs. FJ Suspesion

I'm pretty sure the taco springs and the fj springs are the same. Not 100% sure, but with the lift kits and suspension components being the same..

    4R scary on the highway/wind

I'd try for more caster as well. When I lifted my Tacoma to 1.75 they couldn't get enough caster dialed in. It drove ok, but you had to be on your toes at all times..it just would not track straight for very long. I had light racing UCA's installed and we dialed in more caster. It drove so...
