I am sorry to hear that but mine is working just fine right now and I wanted to be prepared in case of a problem. Dropping and cleaning sounds like a major chore though.
Knowing that my 97 has a lot of miles and a bit of age on it I was wondering if that by chance there is a way to manually close the sunroof if there is some kind of electrical failure?

Yes I realize how old this thread is but I still want to say thanks and well done for your excellent clock repair DIY. Having the experience necessary, I soldered in the connector pins in as directed but even after doing so, the clock still did not work at all...
