I skipped any mud flaps - looks great as is on my '01 that only has the chrome trim on the fenders. You should have no problem ordering the bumper with the outer hinge and the peg for a later swingout installation. Their order form isn't perfect, but if needed just follow up with an email...

Figured it out. I thought it was loaded behind the clip ring, but it is only a little bit. Just took the ring off. Then used a couple clamps to compress the spring to put the clip back on. New steering shaft to remove the play. Drives like a dream.

Howdy! Anybody know what is the right tool to remove the steering wheel lock plate from the upper shaft? The kit from Oreilly's doesn't seem to have the correct adapter.

Thanks - would be great to know the force required to break the tack welds, which would give me more confidence. I suppose a sheer pin will have specs that explain the point of shear failure. I can do either. I've found lots of examples of the tack weld solution, but not much more than a...

Thanks - yes the rattle is what I am trying to resolve. I experience it off-road, and can easily reproduce it by grabbing the shaft and turning the wheel. I've been considering alternate fixes, as a spot weld or roll pin makes me a little nervous, and wondered how this pinch approach might...

I like this idea - have the play and want to fix it, but don't really want my daughter driving a truck with a column that won't collapse (and she *might* be allowed to drive it sometimes). How did this approach hold up?

Was looking for experience with SEM Multimax (used to be called Promax) and then finally found this. How did the paint hold up?

Currently applying POR-15 on my new rear 4xInnovations bumper, and exploring topcoat options. Anybody tried SEM Multimax (formerly Promax) paint on a bumper? An option because it comes in a rattle can. SEM makes quality paints, so it should be better that a Krylon or Duplicolor, but I can't...
