my drivers side rear door opened normally but when i went to shut it -it wont shut. its not hitting anything, it closes softly but just wont latch. so i looked up a latch assy part number 69340-35140 but toyota says discontinued. has anyone had this issue? i would appreciate some advice, thx...

wow, thanks for the input! my starter is original and the reason i asked is i've heard the ones from autozone arent too good. yotashop.com makes a point of theirs being rebuilt by denso too original factory specs and i thought it might be better.

do you think rebuilding the original one is better than buying another one?

when i put mine in, the first thing i noticed was a bigger gap between the aluminum tank and the core support. i thought i did something wrong, but the stock radiator tanks are crimped and a little wider.

no disrespect here, i moved from socal to new mexico 17 years ago. i'm actually a san diego native with lots of family still living there.

you scored a great vehicle, i know because its just like mine! same color, same trim level. i bought mine new in 1999---i've seen the original shift knob on ebay for about 100 bucks, mines still in good shape but i just happened to notice it. congratulations!!!

yea i've been looking for that too. everywhere i look it says no longer available, its probably not necessary, but i'm trying to stay really stock looking. if i get desparate i'll go to a salvage yard. if you find it let me know! if i find it i'll post the source.
