Where is La Ventosa, exactly? Is that the road after Tuxtla Guiterrez toward the Guatemalan border when you have to wind through all those mountains? I was surprised at how good that road was, but I imagine it could be windy...the van driver didn't discuss that with me :)

Those that have driven in southern Mexico and Guatemala. Are the roads bad in July? I've ridden a bus through there, but they seemed ok, at least from a rider's perspective...what are some challenges through southern Mexico and Guatemala toward the capital? Thanks!

Thanks for the answer. I've done that, but it just doesn't set the speed. Are there some hidden fuses somewhere that need to be changed? I can't find any that say "cruise" on the fuse boxes.

I can turn my cruise on where you can see the light, but when I try to set it, nothing happens. I've tried it in 4WD, 2WD, in overdrive, not in overdrive, unplugged and plugged in the cruise harness under the hood. Any ideas?? I don't have an owner's manual, but would love one if anyone's got...

Well, I switched to 2H, so hopefully I won't wear it out anymore....I think the people I bought it from have been using it in 4L for the last 3 yrs. However, they only lived 3 miles from work, so maybe they didn't do too much damage.

Call me dumb, but... Ok, I just got a 98 4Runner SR5 5sp 4WD. I keep reading about only using 4wd in certain conditions. I only see 4 things on the 4WD gear shift thing...Low, N, and 2 highs. Should I be leaving the 4WD in "N" if I'm not in off-road or inclement weather conditions? Also...
