It looks like a rear main seal between the engine and transmission; there is a product you could try IF it is the rear main seal. It's called AT-205 RE-SEAL, just add the bottle to your engine oil. Only thing is you have to add a bottle with every oil change.
My 2019 runs noticeably better with 93 octain, and when I'm out west at altitude loaded with gear the difference between 87 and 91 octain are very noticeable.
If your at 6k miles I would change the oil; I did my first at 2300 miles and the oil filter had fine metal particles in it, looked like glitter in the oil there was so much. When the engine is new is sheds metal as the moving parts get married together.
There is a seal swelling product called AT-205 that you can add to the engine oil, it really does work very well. Only thing is you need to put a bottle in with every oil change.
Interesting your rear diff went out at 8k on your taco; I changed my rear diff fluid on my 2019 4R at 3k and it was under filled from factory. Lots of metal shavings and the fluid was shot. I would defiantly change the T-case and front diff.
I've never heard of the factory fill not being synthetic; Napa guy is a moron. I wouldn't even know where to get a Non-synthetic gear oil in 2022. You wont have any problems running that Valvoline in your Diff's.
I've run 10w30 a few times now but I live in florida, I would Not run a 10w30 in a cold climate. Last winter we had frost 2 times in my part of florida and the 10w30 made the engine harder to turn over. It actually made the timing chains make a strange noise like they slapped the timing cover...
Have you had any issues with the factory rear locker "disengaging"? Mine will lock-in just fine but disengaging I have to roll forward until it makes a loud Pop noise. Not a good noise to me personally, but that might be normal. Anyone experience this?
I ran Amsoil 75w90 GL-5 for 22k+ miles and had no issues; I personally think the TC operates better with a thicker fluid. Then I decided to change to a GL-4 fluid and Redline is what I decided to go with.
Ran the Redline MT-LV 75w GL-4 for two weeks, and then bumped back up to a thicker fluid...
Here is the UOA of my transfer case running Amsoil 75w90 GL-5, according to Blackstone it looks good.
One thing to consider is Blackstone doesn't test for Brass; Brass is an Alloy (Man Made Metal) comprised of Copper and Zinc. Zinc being a EP additive added to engine oils it would be hard to...
