This is probably true...but come on...a little extra metal on the engine side of the firewall and slightly thicker gauge metal on the inside should be a no brainer after the first 500 fail. :) Just sayin'....
ITS OFF!!! And what a MAJOR fsckin pain! I have NO idea if I can actually get it back together. :) But at least it is off. Considering how awful it was to remove...I think I will just wait a couple of weeks and just get the new and improved one when I got the $$. Thanks millions for the help...
heheh. im getting ready to set it on fire. I have everything disconnected, the bolt is ready to come out of the clutch pedal, damn near all the sensors/wires are free. and the thing is in there like it is staying. This may sound dumb...but does the break booster/master Cylinder have to be taken...
No kidding...I have it about 90% percent done....but a question. When you did yours...when did the bracket actually feel "loose?" I have all the master cylinder nuts and bolts off...both the pins for the break and clutch are out of the way and from what I can see there is only two more bolts to...
Thats what I have been hearing, if ya got the $$ get a new one...but I don't sadly. And this is my daily driver too...so extra fun! I have most of the left hand side of the interior torn apart and almost have the frigging thing ready to be wrestled out....*sigh* yay!
Thanks for the perpective...
I apparently have fallen victim of the infamous breaking Clutch bracket. Does anyone know if Toyota has a recall on this? I have seen TONS of threads about it, none more recent than 2011. Or are my options only DIY and either new or getting it welded all to heck?
Hey all...I have a bunch of stuff im selling to make room and possibly get some new stuff for my Runner. :) I have attached links to the descriptions but I can ship if necessary. The quick list:
Tippmann X7 and all the goodies: Tippmann X7 and all the goodies!
Pioneer Amp:Pioneer Premier...
Good to know. I was just sorta putzing around under the hood trying to think of how to re-route the pipes...and the idea of getting a heat shield/pipe wrap situation happening sounds WAY better to me than re-inventing the wheel. :)
Holy moley that is a perfect site. I am thinking about doing the HG on my 91 soon-ish. Question though: Is it crappy gaskets that are the culprit? From some of the research I have been doing it sounds like the exhaust pipe coming off the manifold is cooking the gaskets to the point of failure.
Anyone here know of a good, "local" mechanic type shop for 4Runners? I picked up a 91 a few moths ago and, as I am slowly working to get it "nice" I have to admit there are a few things that need to be done that are beyond the ability of my driveway "shop". :) After cruising the threads I have...
I noticed my 91 makin' that grindy metal scrapin' sound the other day. I had gone over it when I picked it up and even had the local 'Yota dealership do a "courtesy check" on it and they found (other than it needing a bit of a tune and a good cleaning) nothing seriously wrong with it. And then...
