I am planning a camping trip and I am wondering if any of you sleep in the back of your 4runner. I have a 2004 Limited with the split cargo shelf. Is there enough length for a 6 footer? Any ideas for padding? High density foam? Inflatible air bed? Oh yeah... how about those suv tents that...

We are talking about two different creaks here. The creak just described has to do with the back lift door. I don't have a creak there. My creak is in the passanger side back seat. it has to do with the latching mechanism. I will have it looked at next time I go to the dealer. Hawk

funnny... on the post before... if a v8 4r barely pulls an x5, how will it pull an x3 with the same 3.0 motor? just curious. hawk

maybe so thai. it would not surprise me. but also, the throttle can be mapped to have a more aggressive curve. chevys typically have an aggressive curve to appeal to younger buyers. the x5 didn't have as much bite with small inputs, but if you floor it, it gets up and goes quickly. hawk

the nav works with the changer. you can control it with the touch screen or steering wheel controls. i bought the changer really just to have the wiring in the console. i am hoping to somehow rig my rca lyra mp3 player to conect via the changer controls and wiring in the console. hawk

one reason the 4r feels faster is the drive by wire throttle. throttle response is very quick in the 4r. i think the v8 x5 would pull more than half a length on the 4r, if the 4r could barely beat the 3.0. but it really depends on the trap speed. let's all admit it... we have the cooler ride...

yes, the creak goes away with the seats down. thanks for the reply. i will try the tape. hawk

thanks for the replys. good to know that your seats get hot. but for me, i need more heat. and that was the point of the post, not a survey on whether members were satisfied with their level of seat heat. hawk
