Good suspension install shop in/near NYC / Brooklyn / Queens ?

Anyone else? I wanted to bring this thread back from the dead. Moving to NYC and want to find a good place that I can trust. Any updates? OK Auto in Stewartsville, NJ, TNT 4x4 in Ronkonkoma, and New Hope Auto in Crooklyn is what I have so far. Anyone else want to nominate a spot? Many thanks in...

    Back to 4Runner

If I had to do it all over again, I would mod only what I absolutely needed, keeping in mind overall weight and GVM. Off the lot, your curb weight is approximately 4750 lbs. GVM is approximately 6100 lbs. Every ounce of weight you put on detrimentally affects performance. I would take it out...

Switch-Pro 9100 power module mounting location

Thanks, all. Appreciate the quick feedback. Just an update in case someone was considering this now or in the future. I wrote Switch-Pro and they wrote back right away - on a weekend, no less. (That's good service). They pointed out that the battery cable is only 24" long and therefore wouldn't...

Switch-Pro 9100 power module mounting location

All, I could use some help. I searched and searched but couldn't find a thread that discussed the below issue. I purchased a Switch-Pro 9100 and am about to get it installed in my 2017 4Runner. My installer, a highly reputed shop owner at the overseas location I'm at, suggested that he mount...

    Switch-pro SP9100

I literally almost ordered the 9100 with a power tray. Now I'm starting to rethink this horizontal mounting thing. Does anyone have any pics of it being vertically mounted?

    Wow! Expedition Overland

4WD Action all the way. It's pure entertainment. Plus, they're Australian which makes it all the more interesting. And you get to see trucks that we don't have like 79 Series LCs and GU Nissan Patrols.

Should I stick with the Grapplers?

Ooof. Talking about tires is like asking Ford/Chevy or .45/9mm. I had a set of Grapplers before - no issues. I have a set of BFG KO2s now - love them. Great offroad but equally capable onroad. If you're not dead-set on A/T tires (good overall choice by the way) then check out BFG's KM3's...

    5th gen sales have exploded

The worst thing you can say about a 4Runner is that it's not a Land Cruiser. I have a '17 TRD Pro. Love it.

Why does the 4x4 light blink sometimes?

Yes. And enjoy it. Cooler than twisting a knob or pushing a button. Old school.

    Front Bumper Replacement Recommendations

My two cents: I think you're right to think about weight as far as adding a front bumper. Think about your suspension. However, I will say that having a winch is very handy if you're going to wheel it. It gives you options and could save potential damage to your truck. Instead of just "bumping"...

    YouTube Channels?

Some of those I've seen but I've definitely learned a couple new ones from your answers. Thanks, guys.

    YouTube Channels?

What are your favorite off road channels on YouTube? I've been watching 4WD Action lately - pretty good. It's a couple of Australian guys off roading all over Australia. Ronny Dahl, another Aussie, has another channel that's pretty good. Aussies seem to know a thing or two about 4x4. . .

    Parking Brake...do you use it??

So I'm in the "always" camp but before reading this thread, I'd put the transmission in Park and then engage the parking brake. Now, I'm going to do it the other way around. Fun fact for the day.
