Switch-Pro 9100 power module mounting location

All, I could use some help. I searched and searched but couldn't find a thread that discussed the below issue.

I purchased a Switch-Pro 9100 and am about to get it installed in my 2017 4Runner. My installer, a highly reputed shop owner at the overseas location I'm at, suggested that he mount the power module inside the cab and under the driver's seat.

My question is whether that's (1) even possible and (2) a good idea. I know that Switch-Pro wants you to mount the module vertically. Notwithstanding that, what do those of you who have mounted this system think? The thinking here is that the module is "out of the elements" and inside the cab of the truck instead of the engine bay.

Well I think mounting inside of the cab negates how easy it is to add new accessories and how clean everything can be done right under the hood. Having to run every wire through the fire wall is exactly what I wanted to avoid.

I use a Power Trays. There is some adjustment to it, so mine is angled slightly inward. But really even if it was level I don’t get the concern. It is mounted above the intake, in an area that will see very little water, if any (other than washing your engine bay) in an area that is hot so water won’t last long, and...I think having the water shed down and away from the seals makes a lot more sense than a horizontal shedding of any water. Plus having also done searches I could not find anyone that had issues with horizontal. Maybe I am missing something.

Anyway whatever you do horizontal or vertical mount it in the engine bay, plus power from your battery has to go directly to it, neg and pos. And those cables are pretty thick. Under the seat sounds like a complete PITA.

I also did the Power Trays with the single ARB compressor. So clean and convenient. Though very little info on how to do it even on their sight. I should have done a DYI on it in hindsight.

Also on the 4R rubber seal for the harness going into the cab there is a nub (looks like a mushroom at the 1 o’clock position), if you cut off the top of the mushroom it is a molded in pass-through the perfect size for the Switch Pros controller cable, tight and waterproof. Much better than cutting a slit.

Seems odd

I guess it's possible, but that seems like an odd location to me. There should be plenty of room in the engine bay to mount it in a couple of different locations. Unless you've added a bunch of stuff under the hood already.

Just line Snowyeti said it would be difficult to be adding all the accessories you would still have to run the wiring back into the cab of the vehicle, plus you would also have to run the power cable from the switch pro into the cab too. Honestly there's no harm in either getting a power tray to mount it to and if you're worried about water getting into the connector you could always mount it vertically in the engine bay. The switch pro is pretty water resistant for the connector. Plenty of people mount it horizontally without issue including me. Not worth the hassle to run it into the cab to be honest with you.

Thanks, all. Appreciate the quick feedback. Just an update in case someone was considering this now or in the future. I wrote Switch-Pro and they wrote back right away - on a weekend, no less. (That's good service). They pointed out that the battery cable is only 24" long and therefore wouldn't reach inside the cab. If you did need a longer cable, they'd be able to sell you one. If you use your own, you void the warranty. It's a quality control issue for them.

I'm going to mount it vertically inside the bay on the driver's side using the SDHQ mounting plate.
