When I did the CS144 a few years back, I got one new for 100 bucks. It's been on for a few years now and has been great. All I have extra installed are 2 amps for the stereo system, but my headlights dont dim at all anymore. Im happy, install was simple too. It's a good upgrade.

I was hoping someone would find a way to make their own brackets. I have the skid plate but no brackets so I have not installed mine. Would definitely like to but yes it's just for looks.

I have the skid plate but do not have the brackets to install on my 97 4runner. Skid plate is just sitting in garage. Not sure it's possible to find the brackets unless I find them on Tacoma. Making brackets would work but don't wanna do that haha

When I did this to my 97 4runner, my original belt worked. Didn't need a new one. Its been on for over 2 years now too.

I'm thinking of getting some KYB shocks for my 5th springs. I only drive it on the streets as my daily. Which KYB shocks are better for daily driving. The Gas-a-just or the Mono-max?

Ill look into the KYBs. Thanks for the advice on that. Yea don't want a really firm ride. The Tokicos with the 5th gen rear springs work well, I plan to add a trim packer to the rear for a bit extra height but the combo works good. Plus the rear Tokicos are super cheap compared to front shocks

I wouldn't maybe a slight lift 1-2" but want it to ride comfortable on the street. I hardly ever take it offroad, 95% street driven. I looked at stock Tokicos but damn they are expensive for the front shocks. I have Tokicos on the rear but the price on rear shocks were really good.

I was wondering if the Bilstein 5100 front shocks would work on a set of 5th gen front springs to put on my 97 4runner ? I got the front springs for free and are basically brand new but want new shocks. Anyone do this or know how it would ride? would it ride way stiff? I don't do much...

I don't see why the brake upgrade would cause a problem. I think youre gonna be fine.

I live in Cali. Hardly think this will go into effect. The governor here is a straight moron. I do not think this will pass, I think it has to be voted in. Ill drive gas vehicles until Im thrown in jail. lol

I"ve been able to buy parts for pretty good prices on some toyota sites and am able to have them shipped to my local toyota dealership for free pickup. Not all dealerships offer this though
