Update: Noticed that the reservoir remains at the same level hot or cold,before and after.

Just checked the thermostat and it seems to be working fine but I replaced it anyways.Took it for a test drive no luck,can somebody tell me what is the purpose of the radiator cap and if it's bad can it cause it too run hot.Please help.Thanks

I have a red top and mine seams to last longer than conventional battery.Daily driven or not its been good to me.

Have you done any offroading before this happened?,because a couple of warning lights came on my 05 runner similar to yours and it was because I didn't unactivate the four low gearing properly.If this didn't help try the owners manual first.Good luck
