    Roof rack crossbars:factory vs aftermarket

Not quite with 13’ and 17’ kayaks sticking over the back and flat on the bars. It might clear if I went to a vertical rack, with the curve of the hulls.... -H-

Passing and Wiring Switch Through Firewall Grommet, How To

Just an FYI. This grommet, and the brake ECUs in the DS kick panel in particular, are prone to water ingress.... The water, even small drops, runs down into the ECU wiring/connections and can reek havoc on your ABS...causing all sorts of ABS, Check engine, trac control lights to go nuts. Once...

    Wheeling with airbag spring helpers?

I have the Airlift bags. Air them up when towing and drop them to 5 psi when not. No issues when off road. -H-

    SoCal “winter” camping recommendations warmer

I frequently travel to Death Valley, Mojave and Anza Borrego in the winters. Baja is really nice too.... That being said; days are short and it can get cold...really cold. I've been in Death Valley with snow and ice on the tent. Deserts are beautiful places in the winter! -H-

To Snorkel or Not to Snorkel..? That is the question!

I'm very happy with my ARB snorkel. It's been installed for thousands of miles through Baja and US desert areas, and has really helped with keeping silt and dust out of the air cleaner. On part of the Baja 1000 course South of Bahia de Los Angeles I dropped into one of the largest silt/bulldust...

    On Board Air, Which route?

I've had the Viair 400 w/carry bag for...15 years now. It's held up for everything between Colorado, Moab, Copper Canyon, Mexico and Baja...just keeps running. Easy to use and transferrable between vehicles when I need it. I keep a CO2 tank in my home garage for light work and tires there, but...

Towing experiences with your 5th Generation

I just installed the Airlift 1000 bags on my 2016 Pro. (2" Toytec lift) They work great! Easily leveled out my sag, with the #3300 toy hauler attached (loaded with #800 of motorcycles). 4Runner tows it just fine, IMO, but I'm not going anywhere fast and mileage is 10-11mpg on average. -H-

Electrical Issue: VSC, Brake, Multi Terrain

Check and see if this happens after a rain, or washing the vehicle. While there are numerous causes the dealership will find when they run it through Techstream (including getting kicked out of Techstream), the majority seems to be caused by water...even a few drops...running down the wiring...

    Fridge install advice?

I used...and still do use, a simple rail system with cam straps. Works so well that in 40,000 miles over the last two years I've never had an issue. http://www.toyota-4runner.org/5th-gen-t4rs/226261-cargo-rails-fridge-tie-down-%2413-00-a.html -H-

    Raingler cargo nets

I found that mounting the Raingler to the rear hooks just put it too far back for my use. (My fridge door couldn't open all the way.) Raingler immediately sent me their footman loop kit, and I installed it on the c-pillar. Works pretty well, and I've liked the extra security. I keep heavy items...
