I'm having trouble finding any info on lowering 4th Gen 4Runners. I'm not talking to the ground, but, say, dropping the rearend a 2-3 inches and the front 1-2 inches...or something like that.
What's the word?
Thanks.
Click this for the "FJ Runner" article.
As for the Toyota Fortuner...that doesn't look too far off what I'd expect it the 5th Gen 4Runner to look like (somewhere between the 08 Highlanders and Sequoias). We'll see I guess.
04 V6 Belt Replacement Notes
I just replaced my serpentine with a Gatorback (Autozone - $29) and it took bout 15 minutes.
The worst part was wedging my arms in around the fan shroud, pulleys, and other surrounding stuff while trying to remove the old/reroute the new belt. Other than that...
To answer your question about the tack welding, you have to tack weld the cat to the collector while installed, of course. That's the easy part. When I took my ride to be completely welded, the mechanic said he was going to have a hard time due to the space limitations between that joint and...
Opinion update
I'd like to take back the "smooth shifting" opinion. I don't think it's helping after all.
Note: Running great with no issues. DO IT!!!!!
Heck yeah, they're legal...all over the place - http://www.jbaheaders.com/cat4ward.asp
As for the "butt dyno", I wouldn't be a good person to go spouting out numbers. Just to throw one out there, how about 15 hp... I know everybody likes numbers, but I'd like to reiterate that it really feels...
Re: Re: Price Drop...
Quick update on Autoanything's "Price guarantee" deal. Firstly, thanks Uneek as I was completely unaware of that.
I e-mailed autoanything.com following their instructions on the price guarantee Monday night. I got the automated respone Tuesday. Today (Wednesday) I...
I wasn't planning on it for two reasons. One is cost and the other is where. If there was a close cheap one, bring it.
It would have been ultimately useful to you guys if I had done the dyno before and after the mods, of course. Maybe someone else could do this before the header mod...and...
Price Drop...
Well I'll be darned, I just looked at Autoanything.com and sure enough, they brought the price down over $100 within the last couple weeks. I could have ordered the ceramic-coated ones for only a couple dollars more than what i paid for SS. GOSH! That pisses me off a lil bit...
Make sure they're the right ones. I bought them two weeks ago-ish for $428.
Sidenote: anybody forsee any fitment problems with the 4x4?
Still loving 'em!!!!!!!!! Lata.
Weld representation
Here's the best pic I could get of the weld joint between the CAT and the header. It's not great, but it gets the point across. It's on the passenger side, taken just above the wheel well, aimed down at a 45-ish degree angle, fyi.
To further elaborate on the welding, its...
