I have a 2006 4Runner 4WD with 170,000 miles. I get a buzzing/high-pitched whine noise when I put it in Park or neutral. The noise goes away when I put it in drive. The left side is the wiring and the spoiler is held down by 2 clips on the outside and 2 screws from the inside which are covered by the 2 black plugs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What a good deal! I paid 12k for a 2006 limited 4wd V6 with 145,000 in the summer of 2018. I feel like I over paid.

Yes that’s exactly what’s happening. I cleaned everything up really good. We will see if I have anymore problems when it rains again.

Thanks for the replies. I will check the weather stripping and drain holes to see if it’s clogged.

Does anyone else on a rainy day have water dump into the back when they open their rear hatch?? The weather stripping seems to be In good shape but water does not escape to the sides it just pours over the lip. Has anyone fixed this by replacing the stripping?

It sounds exactly like when my front fender liner came loose and was rubbing on my tire.

Just out of curiosity should the intermediate shaft have a little play and be able to be jiggled up and down?

So I found a photo that was takin of the dash area from a few months ago and it actually looks like it is the same one just the plastic base obviously wasn’t stuck back down. Still have know idea why it’s there in the first place.

That actually is possible! I have a sticker in the engine bay that says it’s equipped with a remote start system but haven’t ever been able to get it to work with the factory fob. Maybe I was never given the key for it when I bought it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
