I have a 2006 4Runner 4WD with 170,000 miles. I get a buzzing/high-pitched whine noise when I put it in Park or neutral. The noise goes away when I put it in drive. It seems to be coming from the front engine bay area but can’t really pinpoint it. The whining noise isn’t extremely loud but still noticeable and I can’t recall it always being there.Has anyone experienced something similar? The transmission seems to shift perfectly normal. I had the transmission flushed two years ago.
