I’d really advise against running with it. It’s pretty big and awkward. I wouldn’t try it with tow people either, when one trips they are going to take the other with them. My best suggestion would be to have someone walk it over and install it with you.

Not a mod, but if you’re over 50-60k I’d do the water pump too. I did mine at 80k, looked perfect but I figured I’m 95% there and wouldn’t want to pull it all apart again for $125 part

No, you can get all the parts and put it together. But you cannot buy a prebuilt one.

Sorry this is not correct. You cannot order a long block from Toyota. They absolutely do not offer one. My good friend is a sr tech, and I have plenty of 1st hand info of him rebuilding blown motors, sometimes from bare block. Also, a long block has had the heads installed already.

I’d consider doing the WP while in there, possibly idler pulleys too. It’s a lot easier now then once it’s on. I didn’t think twice about another $150-200 at that point

Install it yourself, or find another shop that will. 3K to install one is insane, even for California.

FYI, I didn’t have any issues with mine. It was tight, but it was clear. If I recall correctly I loosened the throttle body, and retightend.
