It might have something to do with that the headlights are made with glass; Perhaps back in '99, technology isn't far there yet to make the transparent glass headlights in that size without the nipples. This reasoning might explain why the 4th gen headlights are made with plastic due to more...

I think that all Japanese brand cars' bumpers are like jelly comparing to any American brand cars. I got into 2 accidents with F150s myself, they totaled my bumper and their F150s were without a single scratch. Though, Japanese brand cars are way more reliable and more intuitive.

Painting it chrome color? Never seen that done before. I was thinking just 3M a Toyota plastic chrome emblem on the steering wheel, but it might look strange with the added height. Mmmmm... :fishing:

You got a good point there. :lookout: If I remember correctly from driving a 4th gen long time ago, the chrome toyota emblem is made with "plastic like" material. Mmmmm. I am still searching on ebay... everything is on ebay right??? :boink:

Yes. A Police unit came and took a report. I told him that the guy slammed the brake when he got into the right lane and ran. Fortunately, I am OK without any injury.

As I previously stated, I did file a police report after the incident by calling 911. Though the other posters said that since I hit him from behind, I will be blamed for the accident even though the other driver CAUSED it by braking in the middle of the road. And technically, it is classified...

Oh god. I don't know if I have Collision Coverage on my 4runner. If it's gonna cost $2500 to repair all the damage, do you guys think its worth it? My 4runner already has 166k on it and According to Blue Book; it is worth $6750.

Yes. I called 911 and the police filed a report. I didn't get a ticket but only got a receipt that I filed the report. Is 1st Party Insurance REQUIRED for the insurance company to pay for the damages? This would really suck if I need to pay out of pocket. :roadkill:

From the looks of my photos, what do you think its a total ROUGH estimate cost to repair with Toyota Original Manufacturer parts? (I am planning to go to my local mechanic tomorrow but have him buy Toyota OEM parts.) My 4Runner has 166k; not sure if its worth the cost?
