    Blew up my motor

So I have been driving the 4runner around to and from work, and today I start it up in the morning and decide I'm not going to give it any gas like I have had to before and see what happens...started up perfect, high idled and dropped down to normal idea speed...I am thinking that maybe the...

So check some things today with gamefreakgc... checked all the grounds and cleaned some of them up cleaned MAF sensor checked for any major vacuum leaks reset the ECU idle is just a little better than before, still too low... we came up with a thought, maybe the O2 sensors are covered with...

    Blew up my motor

No the only things that were swapped over were the pulleys. I'm gonna clean the MAF sensor when I get home today and see if that does anything cause this is a different one than the one I cleaned on the last motor to try to fix this issue

    Blew up my motor

Yeah, I'm a little more worried about this low idle. So this morning was the first start after sitting over night in the cooler temps. It started then died, started then died, started again and gave it gas to keep it running, then sat at this idle till engine temp got up Not sure why it's not...

    Blew up my motor

I tried this on the original motor with no change, haven't tried to clean it on the new motor yet since I just got it back a few hours ago haha but I will give it another try this weekend

The idle was low before the motor swap too...so I have been trying to figure out how to fix from the day I bought it

    Blew up my motor

Sorry for not posting any updates till now, been a crazy couple months. SO... Got the new motor from Auto Gator locally, $854 which included the motor (less pulleys, starter), $100 core charge, one day shipping to my buddy's shop and tax...which I thought was pretty decent. The motor had around...

No it won't turn over now, just sounds like the starter is trying to spin but won't. I think it's hydrolocked with all the coolant.

    Blew up my motor

Other than draining the oil, is there anything else I can do to check without taking it to a shop? It's hard to get it anywhere, all my friends and family live 130 miles away so finding someone to get it over to a shop for a few hours to get a test done and then bring it back is a little...

    Blew up my motor

No elevated oil level. I literally have coolant still dripping out of the cat and muffler under my truck, and this happened two mondays ago. I pulled one spark plug out (front driver side) and it wasn't wet.

    Blew up my motor

Well that's what I thought. But from what I've been told if I blew the head gasket the coolant wouldn't be going into the exhaust it would be going into the oil. And the oil is still clean. Correct me if that's wrong because I'd love for it to just be a head gasket

    Blew up my motor

Well when I bought it a few months ago, I wanted to do a full time up on it. I drained the coolant and it was pure rust water. So I did 3 flushes to get as much as I could out. Then last weekend I was driving down the freeway and heard a squeal so I turned my a/c off really fast which stopped...

    Blew up my motor

Sooooo I was wondering if there is anyone on here that has replaced a motor, not had a shop do it, done it themselves. I don't have the money to have a shop do it and I found a local recycler that I can get a take out motor for $600-700. Just wondering if there's any helpful hints or things you...
