Well, taking out that screw didn't release the cover, and I am loath to destroy the cover in an effort to get under it. Is there any way to access the bolts that hold the strike in place? I'm getting desperate here! Not only can I not access the cargo door, I also can't access the spare tire!

The white plastic cover over the main assembly appears to only be held in place by one easily accessible screw. I wonder if, were that to be removed, I might be able to directly access the mechanism and force the fingers apart.

So... are there any other methods for getting the rear door to unlatch? Mine is a 2007 SR5. Apparently a strap from a backpack was laying across the sill when I closed the door, and it just happened to be right where the latch is - I presume the strap either got pulled into the latch in some...

I saw that! It's a beautiful job, really, and a genius use of what's already there. It's one of the reasons I was wondering about the other indents on the later 4th gens.

Like many others, I'd like an option that seems integrated rather than bolted on. I was looking at my back end, at the molded-in notches on the bumper, like this guy's. Since the center one on mine is notched for the trailer hitch, I was wondering if there was a purpose for the other two...

I think the difference between the early and late 4th gens might factor into it as well. Both the existing 4R and the Tacoma models are elegant in their minimalist functionality. The way I'm looking at it, the squared off protrusions perpendicular to the ground on the earlier 4R models do...

X2 on that 2nd gen Tacoma template. I really think that the angled design on the corners makes the winch bumper visually mesh with the rest of the front end a lot better.

Re: Slow charging... I don't know if it's just advertising hype, or if it means something; but I noticed that, while both cite the same specs, bpowa's link actually specifies "Rapid Charging for Apple.../High Speed Charging for Samsung."

So, in doing some more reading, I realized what many here probably thought when they saw my comment - that it's illegal, and would be a ticket magnet.

Does anyone have any experience with these? I really like the idea of the smoked covers obscuring the lights inside, visually continuing the continuity of the surfaces. ...kinda 'stealth'-like...

Had America's Tire check it for me. One sensor's dead: one sensor's battery is very low; the other three are fine for the time being. He quoted me roughly $76 each, installed. Still want to check Sam's and Costco.
