5th gen HVAC blower not blowing strong - partial solution

For a while now my girlfriend has been complaining that the air is not blowing hard enough on the HVAC and she is not as cool as she would like in her 2021 4Runner. Today I did some testing to verify all is working as it should. The AC system is charged and the air is cold. The blower motor...

Have You Updated Your Firmware Lately?

Just updated my 2021 SR5. What was interesting in the Multimedia Extension Unit for Maps there is an update for blower motor. Hope it makes the AC blower move more air:)

Voltage Booster for 20-22 T4R's to optimize your AGM battery

Hello, Just checking in to see what is the latest/best option for the 20+ 4runners. My 2021, purchased in late 2020, just had its battery fail and I replaced it with a AGM. I measured the voltage at the battery with the engine at idle and it was 13.6 volts. Thanks, Jeremy

Akebono ProACT Ceramic vs Factory OEM Break Pads

The OEX has a good initial bit when cold, stopping power is great and consistent across all of the regular driving scenarios. The Ackebono have poor initial bit, especially when cold. Each have low dust as you would expect with a ceramic pad.

Akebono ProACT Ceramic vs Factory OEM Break Pads

I have not done a back to back comparison but in my somewhat limited experience I have preferred the Wagner OEX ceramic brake pads over the Akebono ceramic pads. OEX 976 front and OEX 606 rear. Jeremy

    Warmer LED Headlights

Great information in this post, I was just looking for this information for another vehicle I have that I am considering LED headlight bulbs for. One question for you all is how is Holley/Morimoto doing it with their 3000k led headlight offering? Holley RetroBright LFRB155 Holley RetroBright...

    Questions about leveling/lifting with 6112/5160's

The rear trim spacer was relatively cheap and the install was really simple and quick. Raising the driver rear will lower the passenger front a bit. This did really even it out, something to consider. OME150PR10 - Old Man Emu 10mm Rear Trim Spacer

    Questions about leveling/lifting with 6112/5160's

I have 6112s in the front of my 2021 and the instructions I got with my kit seem different than yours. I went with the 2" over stock setting of #6 and #4 and it leveled out great. To fine tune the ride height, typical driver side lean, I used a 10MM Old Man Emu rear coil spring spacer on the...

    Break Pads

+1 on this recommendation. I have used these on my previous 4th Gen 4Runner and these are what I will go with for my 5th Gen when it needs pads.

    1" Lift Needs Alignment ASAP?

In my experience with a 1" spacer lift I could not notice any significant change in the toe in between my before and after measurements. The 4runner seems to be very stable with respect to bump steer within the range of normal ride height. That being said, i would still schedule an alignment...

What do you do with your OEM wheels?

Sold them cheap to a friend with a second gen Tacoma. They look much better on the older body style vehicles IMHO.

What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

I added the OME 10mm trim spacer part number OME15PRO10 to the drivers side rear of my SR5 4runner today, I still had the drivers side lean after adding Bilstein 6112s up front at the 2" lift setting, even using the Bilstein recommendation of of preloading the drivers front more than the...

DIY: OME FJ Rear Trim spacer install notes

Thanks for these helpful instructions. I just added a OME 10mm trim spacer to the drivers side rear of my 5th Gen 4Runner after using Bilsteins to level the front. This was the ticket to even the ride height from side to side and it was super easy to install. Since I was only adding it to one...

Someone Who Knows LCA Cam Bolts... Take me to school!

Jet, Can you please elaborate more on Cross Caster. I understand caster and camber but not super familiar with this idea. I think you are talking about the difference in caster from side to side to deal with the crown of the road, I believe it is accepted to have slightly more caster on the...

What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

I only went up 2" in the front with the 6112s, at 2" the new upper control arms are not needed. I have adjusted the front arms cam adjusters forward and I have a little over 4 deg of caster. Need to fine tune the adjustment now that I have a few miles on the front. Initial driving impressions...
