I ran CC for the first time in Moab a few weeks ago on Fins and Things. Used it on some of the steepest slickrock descents (no obstacles) that we encountered. Noise was a bit disconcerting but the owner's manual had given me a heads up.
It worked remarkably well for controlling the descent. My...
My wife and our two sons just got back from a "light" off road trip. We drove our T4R's out from St Louis to Moab (1250 miles) for two days and then Breckenridge for three more days. I have a 2014 TE and he has a 1998 Limited. My vehicle is stock except for RCI Metalworks under armor and...
I've been using the Midland CB for about 4 years now. I never permanently mounted it because I have frequently transferred it between vehicles. It has been a very dependable unit. Always run mine off a mag mount antenna.
RCI Metalworks, full skid package. Started with just the filler plate, oil, gas tank skids. I liked the fit, finish, and quality so much that I immediately ordered transmission and transfer case skids as well.
I've noticed a vertical streak of greasy smudge on the inside of the window. At first I thought it was just something on the weather stripping. Then I concluded it might be something internal that is rubbing when lowering the window. Now after a series of deductive reasoning I believe it is...
Just curious why you want "more than a bolt on". I'm running bolt ons on a 2004 Jeep Rubicon. I installed the rails with less than a 1/4" spacing from my rocker panel. I used a total of twelve grade 8 bolts through the frame to secure each side.
That was 10 years ago. After all kinds of...
I have a civil engineering degree.
One of my professors told me that being an engineer is developing the ability to solve problems and learning to think differently than the "masses".
To wit; ...anybody can build a dam. Just keep pushing enough rubble into a canyon and eventually it will stop...
I just finished installing RCI Metalworks gas tank skid. Thank you you Josh. Fit is incredibly precise.
I have a 2014 TE with the factory skid package. So my questions are these. What will the factory skid fit? SR5 or Limited? Or neither? Or do they have an identical skid? How about years? Any...
I will beg patience from the forum body for my lack of tech skills before I ask my question.
I was thinking of getting one of these for my son (age 26) as a gift. But after reading a number of Amazon reviews complaining about the firmware(???), and the necessity of having to update the device...
There is a small shoulder on the rivet nut. Will that force the slider to rest on top of the shoulder? Or put another way will the slider not fit flush against the door sill?
I realize I'm only talking about a 1/16 of an inch but it would allow small rocks and particulate to accumulate.
I used a snorkel mount like Mikeys (above) for years and was very satisfied with it. Additionally, I ran an external speaker and attached it to my headrest so the sound was right next to my ears (where it is supposed to be).
But to the OP's question, .....a convenient mount? Let me define...
philsey
I want to make a public apology to Philsey.
Bad day at work and frustration at home working around the new vehicle. I let my inability to find an answer influence a sharp response.
I really try to learn for myself and appreciate all the help I've received on this forum.
Good day to...
