    Performance/Concerns

I'm a new T4R owner, too - picked up a '94. Even tho I have a 5 spd it's slow, no doubt. I just drive it accordingly - and with a new, nice set of tires on it it sets out on the highway comfortably at 70 mph. Doubt that it's worth investing a whole lot to improve performance.

    1990 V6 to 1986 Engine Swap

while the 3.0 in my '94 4R seems to be putting along just fine I am aware that it is a) gutless and b) probably not a long-mile engine. Should I come across the right deal what motors would be a good swap to stick in this truck. Overall I have enjoyed it as my "barn jeep" so wouldn't be...

    Lowering '94 front suspension

well, we've soaked the bolts several times - no luck. They say if they break the bolts I'll have to get a new torsion bar....not true? They also say they can't put heat on them....true? thanks

    Electrical issue

Sounds like you've got a short somewhere. I'd start with the stereo -review all my fittings/connections & double check what I hooked into. Then I'd look at the turn signal lever to see if there's a worn wire that gets shorted when you activate the lever. If you have a schematic take a look at...

I'll be interested to read your notes - I just bought a '94 4R and have a few kinks I'm working out, too.

Replacing carpet with truck bed liner spray

I would wonder the same about the previous post, FWIW. As for the bed liner, I've used the brush on stuff for a number of applications and sure like it for protection. For example, my 4R had some rust on the top of the tail gate. I cleaned it all up, coated it with rust-conversion goop then...

    Spare Tire Mount '94 T4R?

thanks - that's good news - and beats the several hundred dollars I've read about for the bumper mount that I would prefer not to do. I'll give Toyota a call and see what I can find out. thanks

    Lowering '94 front suspension

Yes, several have looked at it and can see that it's been adjusted up to allow for the larger tires. The shop is going to try again tomorrow to see if the bolts will come loose after a good soaking of penetrating oil.

    Lowering '94 front suspension

Hi- another nooby question. My new-to-me '94 T4R had the large tires on it & the front end jacked up to accomodate. I put regular size tires on it and when I went to get the front end lowered back down & aligned they tell me the bolts are so rusted that if they break them I'm going to need a...

    Spare Tire Mount '94 T4R?

Spare tire carrier thanks for the reply - I'm thinking you might be right about the bumper mount. I would prefer to get it back under there - it's out of the way & suits my purposes better. Won't leave it in the bed - need the space back there for stuff. I havne't checked with Toyota yet to...

    Spare Tire Mount '94 T4R?

Hi - new to the board and new to owning a T4R. Had to have the stock spare tire mount cut off so that I could get the spare out to get home. Would like to remount the spare under the truck in the original location - so am looking to find out sources for parts and/or what others have done. thanks
