Grinding sound still there I've checked the motor for broken parts and did find a 1" piece still in the motor body. Now the problem seems to be the gears in the motor section are damaged. Toyota wants $254 to replace and install the new one...not going to happen. 1. Can the gears be replaced...

Grinding sound still there I just replaced my antenna with one from Toyota and I still have the grinding and the shaft has difficulty extending. Goes down fine but has a problem going up and then the grinding. Dumbfounded!

Shaft replacement I've had the intermediate shaft assy replaced and then that of course wasn't the problem. There's a lower shaft and that one was completely worn. Replaced that one and now have no movement in the steering wheel.

If you are at a stop and holding the steering wheel, there's movement in the steering without movement of the wheel. It feels like about a inch of play. When the vehicle is in motion and hits a minor bump in the road, it feels like there's more movement. This play in the steering while driving...

I have a 98 4runner and I've had the intermediate shaft assy replaced and I still have play in the steering wheel. Toyota, now says that I need to replace another steering shaft. How many steering shaft does it have and can I replace it myself?

The cheapest price that I have found here is $500 and then upward for the shocks and installed. That price was for KYB and monroes. No one in that price has said anything about front alignment.

I own a 1998 4runner limited and I need to change out the shocks. Been checking around and cost is out of control for installing them. First question, How hard is it to replace and install shocks in the front end of my 4runner? Second question, Any suggestions on the brand of shocks for it...

Antenna fix By some chance to you know the part number of the antenna? I think that on my 98 it just needs to be rethreaded and should just suck back in.
