Mine does this as well. I'm fairly certain it is normal. I believe its a vacuum pump (brake booster) for power brakes even if the engine isn't running. I can turn the key to the on position (without starting) and still hear thee noise...

Mine just stopped working. It will not even load cd's. It ejects the cd's that are in there just fine and plays them as well. It say's "loading" but will not take the CD's. It does not give me an error message. Does anyone have any other ideas I can try...
