New Ride - New Member

Hey all, I just purchased an '03 Sport V8- 132,000 mi. I've wanted a 4Runner as long as I can remember! I drove it back from Kansas City to Manhattan which is a 2 hour trip that gave me some good quality time to get to know her. I love it already!

I'm coming from a 98 Cherokee so I'm excited to have the extra room, power, durability, features, looks... do I need to keep going? ha ON TO THE PICTURES!!

Couple Issues I need to get to:

Leaking Driver Front/Inner CV boot
Brakes - not real sure yet, I'll pull the wheels off tomorrow, guessing a caliper issue.
A couple LED lights out on dash, behind the fan control? behind the clock?
Rattle in the sunroof, only while I was on a dirt road.
Wheels seem to be in poor shape, bubble's and rust spots

Future Mod List:
Daystar Lift 2.5/1.5
265/70/17 BFG K/O's or SilentArmors
SpiderTraxx spacers
Weathertech Mats
Front window tint
New Head Unit
Remote start

In no particular order, and at a slow pace, hopefully I can do 1 or 2 a month.
Please let me know of any other mods that I can look into that I would be missing out on!

I've been combing this forum for weeks while I was looking for the right deal. I'm very excited to now be a 4Runner owner and get some good advice from you all. Thanks!

Welcome! and nice color 4runner! I have a silver 04. The easiest and cheapest mod that you should try that looks great on the silver runners is to plasti-dip your emblems black. I just did it to mine it it looks much sharper! Welcome to the forum! Nice looking ride! Another mod that is popular are the OEM (or ebay, but be careful) rear LED tail lights. Very easy to do! Made my 05 Limited look new.

Hey everybody, I just wanted to post an update:

I have installed new front pads and rotors (I had warped rotors...)
-Akebono Ceramic Pads
-Wagner Rotors

I did the Constant 12V Power Outlets, which is awesome and took 10 minutes.

- Removed the HCF in the airbox. I feel like it made a slight difference in sound, but I can't really say if there is an "improvement".


My Dad, Brother and I are on our way to Colorado to spend 8 days camping and fly fishing so we are loaded down with all our gear and 3 adults, I'm getting 18.2 mpg(hand calculated). A little disappointing because the readout says 20.7!

P.S. We are fishing on the Upper Taylor, and Lake Fork of the Gunnison, If any members are avid fisherman with knowledge of the area, I'd sure appreciate some other spots to try!
