Building on Steve's idea.....you could JB weld some thin plywood to the floor pan, then use short wood screws, through the carpet and into the plywood.

Living in MI, aren't you worried about snow and yuck getting tracked in? Especially by back seat passengers? Maybe some weathertech mats would help?

Bing, did you have to unplug the temp sending unit when you replaced your valve covers? Make sure it is plugged back in, properly. Also, look for a broken wire coming from the sensor.

If you use a drill, slightly bigger than the hole in the center of the rivet, you can drill into the center of the rivet and the head will pop right off. Check out this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IF42wEb7H-E

Here is a picture of the old parts. That LBJ was shot! I had to sawzall through the struts to get them out. I could get the three mount bolts loose, but not the actual strut bolt. I used the jack under the control arm trick to decompress and compress the springs.

So this weekend I managed to change both front struts and one LBJ. I wasn't able to get the castle nut off the OTR on the passenger side. So I picked up a new OTR and I will use my friend the sawzall to get rid of the old one.

I'm just curious what technique people are using to highlight the Toyota emblem on their center caps? I see lots of black and red.

I am going to have to dig into the old RS install and see if there is any override module involved. Once I figure that out, I will order the new system. I will definitely write up the install.
