That's what I'm wondering... I'll have to look into finding a good place to have them checked and possibly replaced other than the dealership and what I'm sure will be asinine pricing.

Well, that's just a terrible design lol! Looks like it's under $400 for a replacement one plus labor, which I'm guessing I could do myself. Not terrible, but sure would be nice to just be able to grease it instead!

Sorry to probably beat a dead horse, but in the case of a 2x4 doing this, like mine does, what are the options then if it can't be serviced? Mine does it consistently and it's getting really annoying. To the point that I've only had the thing for 3 months and i already want to sell it. :redbrick:

So I've been having this problem as well, and mine is a 2WD 09. I stopped by a Firestone to see if I could get my tires balanced while killing time and asked if they could do this as well... guy says sure, sends the tech out to the truck, comes back in and says "I didn't see any fittings on...

Don't remember the code... Just said evap control system I think.

AutoZone pulled evap code for gas cap... How many cycles does it take for this car to self clear if that's the case?

Recently swapped the cheap paper filter for a K&N drop in and removed the carbon filter as well. Noticed a few days later on startup, the CEL and VSC/Traction lights were on. Shut the truck off, disconnect/reconnect the battery, and no issues. Drove a couple times with no problem, then hopped in...

Yup, all connectors are tight. Only unplugged one.

So last night, someone apparently backed into me and dented the tailgate. Now, I’m not super concerned since this thing has 205K miles on it and is my daily, it’s not perfect but it still frustrated me. I did for the first 5 months and put 12k miles on it :frusty: It’s a lease for 15k per year, which normally would be enough since I typically travel 3 weeks a month for work but if I’m home, my round trip to work is almost 100 miles a day so it was racking up quick with a 2 month travel break...
