CEL and VSC after K&N Filter

Recently swapped the cheap paper filter for a K&N drop in and removed the carbon filter as well. Noticed a few days later on startup, the CEL and VSC/Traction lights were on. Shut the truck off, disconnect/reconnect the battery, and no issues. Drove a couple times with no problem, then hopped in the other day and same thing again. Drove it to the airport after another battery disconnect, and when I got back from my trip, started up with no issues, and nothing popped up on the 20 mile drive home.

Haven’t had a chance to get the code pulled, if it is even saved, but curious if anyone else has seen this...

It could be a matter of different causes, you'll need to pull codes. I've had MAF codes in some vehicles due to over-oiled gauze type filters like K&N, also had lean air fuel ratio codes in other vehicles due to loose intake tubing or disconnected vacuum hoses after someone worked on/around the air filter area.

AutoZone pulled evap code for gas cap... How many cycles does it take for this car to self clear if that's the case?

Don't remember the code... Just said evap control system I think.

disconnect your battery for 30 minutes, hook it back up, see if the code is still there. While waiting for the system to reset, check your work again and make sure all vacuum lines and sensors are plugged in correctly.
