I believe that it will work but the wiring is different and requires a diode to make it function as intended. If you read through this whole thread you'll find explicit instructions for wiring it with a SPST switch.

Magnetic gray all the way. Gray was my first choice but I was in kind of a rush and had to go with black (black and blizzard pearl were the only two colors available in a 200 mile radius of me). I love black but it's so hard to keep clean. The gray is just a sharp color.

I'm pretty sure it can't be bypassed, but I'd love to be proven wrong. That said, you don't have to hit "continue". The screen only takes a short time to go away on its own. Even less time if you are backing up.
