change them yourself, sometimes they need bearings sometimes they don't, the last 2 I did was several years ago and they have not leaked yet. because of the cost of replacing the bearings its worth trying it

I have the same problem, my trouble shooting has been to check the draw on the battery and one at a time pulled every fuse and relay , with no luck. I currently make sure I start and run the vehicle once a week. (its a second vehicle) sometimes I unhook the battery if its going to sit longer

I bought my 99 with 240K and now has 300k, zero problems with drive train in that time. most issues have been things like a door lock going out or sunroof motor. if your not a do it yourselfer and have to pay a shop to fix it , it will it will ad up.
