In general, yes. The Toyota transmission fluid is dyed red, as are most aftermarket ones too. I don't even see a hint of anything but "standard" tan/brown lubricant color that is used in the transfer case or the engine so I'd suspect it's from the input seal as the poster above me noted. At...

I believe 255/80 is what you're looking for; same/similar diameter to the 285/70. The 255/85 is considerably taller, not sure what you might run into clearance wise, or what your appetite is for cutting/hammering to create clearance if you do have an issue.

That nut doesn't come off, the plastic wiper arm indexes on that nut; it has multiple "teeth" so that you can adjust the position of the arm so that it falls in the right place when retracted and covers the correct amount of the window when in motion.
