Midwest 3rd Gen BS Thread - WI, MI, IA, MN, IL, IN

I hope you Indy guys are able to get out. I think it would be cool to get out wheeling with guys from the northern part of the Midwest some weekend. Anybody up north wanting to go?

A side note I use DuPont automotive paint. As long as the paint prep work is clean so that the pant sticks the greatest determination of uv resistance is going to be the paint and not so much the base material as long as they are compatible.

I have kept one for myself. It is white and has only been on the truck for about a year. I picked this up from a buddy of mine who owns a body shop. I fix and sell many vehicles a year, no complaints yet. It has been about Four years on my Buddy's Chevy that I see on a regular basis and no...

Not me just good A/T tires. I have been impressed with my Good Year Silent Armor tires and General Grabber A/T 2.

I have also used raptor liner and paint it to match. I have done this to multipal trucks. UV light or pealing has not been a problem.

Anybody wheeling this up coming week around WA or OR

I am from MN and will be in the Oylmpia area this weekend and coming week. I have been doing some last minute looking for places to wheel in the Pacific NW... I need to home by the 24th.

I used one the same daystar kit on a 96 4runner it worked OK, plenty fine for the street but tough on the ball joints off-road (from my experience anyway) as with most spacer kits. I'm sure there are smoother riding kits out there. I skipped the whole IFS suspension kit this time around on my...

    3rd Gen Rear Bumpers

When I get chance I try those site because photobucket wasn't working too well and I didn't get what I was hoping for. I'm glad I got you thinking. In MN we have long winters which can result in the mind running wild with ideas while waiting for the snows to receed. My truck is the result of one...

For Patco Yes the upper x-member is still stock and I didn't change it for the sole purpose to see if the upper mounts could take the stress. My goal was to give a narrow wishbone a shot on this truck changing as little as possible to give myself and others what can be done without as much work...

    3rd Gen Rear Bumpers

Wasn't trying to nock your leaf springs. Everybody has different luck. My truck has excellent lateral stabilty and I haven't had my axle shift left to right contrary to what one might think and with my design a panhard would cause bind/added stress to the "Y" link in off camber droop and...

Panhard/trackbars aren't always needed. Have you ever looked under a Jeep Grand Cherokee or a Suzuki Sidekick? There suspensions work well. If I were you I'd do more research before swapping in leaves unless you plan on towing tandom axle trailers with over 3000# in tow. It's just my opinion...

What should i do to my '97 SR5?

I had a runner the same color I didn't like it a first...than I bolted some black steel rims on with some 245/75-R16 MTR take off tires combined with a daystar buget boost and running board removal the truck finally looked like it should.
