Can you post a pic of the new bolt? Also and I’m assuming you can take a pic of what it should look like on the other side. You should be able to measure the bolts and see if they’re the same size.

I would also check out the new varieties of Cooper AT3s. The 4S, the LT, and the XLTs. They all have great reviews

Either way ends up turning the same internal pieces. Do you feel like something is stuck or just won’t turn anymore?

Are you using a ratchet on the backside? Supposed to use a Phillips from the topside.
