For future washes, give the touchless automated car washes a try. I have been quite impressed what chemicals and water pressure alone can accomplish and avoids the risk of the car wash brushes damaging your finish.

Loosen the lug nuts a bit and take a short trip on a bumpy road. I would be seriously suspect your tires were actually rotated, or at least that one, if you can't get the wheel off.

I hate to say it, but I think she's a total loss. I do think your salvage estimate is under valued. I would think a junk yard that deals in parts should give you at least a grand if the catalytic converter(s) is still on it.
