Question about rear shocks (2nd Gen w/Rough Country Lift)

Long story short, I bought a project 2nd Gen that has a 4" Rough Country lift kit and a terrible squeaking noise. I haven't driven it since I bought it (been pulling/cleaning the interior), but decided to locate the source of the squeak today. It's coming from the shocks in the rear, due to...

Maybe I'm missing something here... (92-95 DAMN DOOR BUZZER!)

Definitely sounds like it's located behind the panel of fuses. Oh brother...

Yeah it looks like I'm going hunting. I'll have a family member post on my behalf if I die in an electrical fire. :rip:

For some, those features are definitely helpful, but I've driven enough older vehicles without a buzzer/dinger to remember those things on my own. I wouldn't feel so inclined to get rid of if it wasn't one of the worst sounds they possibly could come up with.

Tape is a last resort I suppose. I'd still like to keep my door light available. Airdreams, do you know what gen 4runner MudHippy has? I'm looking in that area and I see relay boxes, but none labeled "buzzer." That or it's hidden among the bird nest of wires that previous owner left when he...

I looked around for the "black box" or the specific wire but didn't find anything, so I'm hoping someone on here can point me in the right direction.

Maybe I'm missing something here... (DAMN DOOR BUZZER!) Yet another door/headlight buzzer thread. I've searched pretty rigorously for a decent explanation on how to disconnect/disable the damn thing (on yotatech, t4r, ih8mud, pirate 4x4, etc.) and can't seem to find anything that applies to...

I cannot believe you managed to find either of these so clean in the Lower Mainland! Unless you paid the big bucks of course... :faint:

I found another potential 2nd Gen today. Not as good (or as good looking for that matter) as the previous one but still decent. 1990 Toyota 4Runner Pros: - Bumpers front and back - Tire rack + Roof rack - 33" Procomp Xterrain's + Studded winter tire set - Fender flares Cons: - Headgasket...

Finally got a reply: "The truck is conditionally sold for buyer pickup on May 20th." Even though I said I'd come with cash in hand if everything checked out. Bummer. All I can do now is hope the deal falls through... I'm kicking myself for not ringing him up sooner.

Yeah sure, if I end up getting it we'll talk. Do you know when/how your buddy got a hold of him? Maybe he's out for the weekend cuz I haven't heard back yet.

Small world! The interior isn't very important to me but it's certainly a bonus if it's taken care of though. Is he not interested in it? I'm trying to get a hold of the seller but I haven't heard from him yet. If it can't be limped home then I may ask for compensation on the towing department...

I agree, the price seems like it'll sell fast. I may even pay to get a mechanic to look it over so there isn't any goodies like a blown this, snapped that, etc. I believe it's got plastic fender flares and a nicer interior?

Hi everyone! I'm considering purchasing this 2nd Gen that I recently found on craigslist (hopefully you all can view the link) but want to hear from you guys as well. It's going to be a bush truck essentially that I'll only be insuring for days when I want to go off-roading, not a daily...
