So I cut them off on the passenger side and then on the drivers side, then I popped the driver side mirror off and it had these long tabs (great!) so I hope they were not important, not sure what they are for....... Looks like heat elements work on both and everything seems to operate okay so...

So here are some pictures of the 4runner mirror VS the Rav 4 mirror It feels cheaper than the original and it has strange tabs and an extra hookup. Also the heated element is sideways vs up and down like the poem, which is positive and which is negative, perhaps I got some knockoffs? Help...
