Suspension Help. Bilstein 6112's

Well I finally got my 6112's! Now I am on the fence about what setting to put them on, I am going with the daystar 1.5 inch spacer in the back and I am on the fence between 5th and 6th clip on the fronts (2.4 vs 2.7) and taking into account the future settling of 0.25-0.50 I am guessing. I will buy rear springs one day when all is settled. I dont want to go to high in the rear but also do not want to be nose high, I also dont want to be too high in the back as it makes tire look to small. right now I am running 265 falken wild peaks but I think they are closer to 275's.

Here are my measurments and on the bottom that is frame to floor, on the top left that is ground to top of wheelwell and to the right of that is center of hub to top of wheelwell. Ignore everything to right of the line.

If you’re lifting the rear 1.5 inches then I would go with 2.0 or 2.5
If you’re sticking with 265s I’d do 1.6 or 2.0 and 1” in rear
Just remember at 2.5 your maxed out on alignment specs before needing new UCAs

I just recently installed 6112 and 5100 with eibach 1 inch rear springs with 265/70/17 Hankook Dynapro ATM. I have KDSS and I went with the 5th slot on both left and right side. On the 5th setting I got about 2.25 inches of lift.

I think it rides great with this setup. I can't remember the measurements off the top of my head, but I do remember the the rear of the running boards are 1 inch higher than the front.

If you purchased your 6112's recently, they should be the revised version with only 5 adjustments slots, not the 7 you currently have pictured.

Interesting, you sure about that? I will double check when I get home but I just got them, they are part number 47-259768.

Unless they've made yet another revision, then yes.

They originally came out with 7 settings, then revised the shock in late 2016 (which is the one I purchased) and knocked it down to 5 settings. Its entirely possible the made another revision (its still a fairly new shock).

I have a set from the latest batch also. They have 7 settings and the settings you posted are the updated ones with 2 notch jumps not 1. You’re good to go

They originally came out with 7 settings, then revised the shock in late 2016 (which is the one I purchased) and knocked it down to 5 settings. Its entirely possible the made another revision (its still a fairly new shock).

That sound backwards to what i recall. Bilstein shows the seven groove shock on their website and install instructions, dated 08.17.17

You can read the 50page bilstein 6112 thread if you like. The first version had 7, the revision had 5, and it sounds like they've gone back to 7. I had mine off 2 weeks ago and I bought after the revision was made, and it has 5.

It appears they've gone back to 7 based on the website, as the link to Saker's instructions showing the revised thread count in that thread is now dead.

Interesting. I read dozens upon dozens of 6112 related posts in several threads and never recall reading they started out with seven grooves. Thanks for the clarification. I must have the revised-revised version then, as the set I purchased early last year has seven grooves.

Looks like the rear has settled 1/4”

No settling yet after 2500 miles in the front.
