At 500 RPM you are pumping about 1500 litres of air per minute. 1 cubic foot equals 28 litres....
1500/28....53 CFM.
Not much to spare for more than idling.
Or am I missing a major part of this?

The ADD system keeps almost the entire front drive train running all the time.
It is disconnected from the driver side wheel, and in the transfer case.
