    Rear Diff Mistake NEED HELP!!

Update: Yesterday morn I made a sling to support the free spinning drain plug to prevent the plug from completely falling out and drove my runner over to a friend's shop a few miles away. He brought out the impact wrench to see if that would pop it loose. No luck. It appeared as a scientific...

    Rear Diff Mistake NEED HELP!!

@ JEL... I have gone down that path in my head. I have a pump that could do the trick. My main fear with the drain plug now, is that it could pontially work its self a little loose and drain my diff without me know or while driving and cause big big problems. Right now, it has not leaked a...

    Rear Diff Mistake NEED HELP!!

Thanks for the advice. The fill plug is out. Used PB Blaster and came off nicely. Up crap creek with paddle floating to side, just don't know if I should try to grab the paddle or just float downstream until I hit land.

    Rear Diff Mistake NEED HELP!!

Or better yet should I go ahead and take it to my friend's shop preemptively. Because lets say I get the bolt out and everything is fine or maybe just need to buy a new drain plug. Or I could get it out and not be able to thread a new bolt back in and thus have an undrivable vehicle. As of...

    Rear Diff Mistake NEED HELP!!

I was attempting to change my rear diff fluid and I believe a stripped the drain plug bolt. When the bolt began to move, I mistakenly was tightening it when I though I was loosening it. Upside down got my lefty and right mixed. Rookie mistake and now I fear the worst. Now when I try to remove...

Ha! No reason for putting on backwards except for a lapse in mind. I just realized I did that! Out of curiosity is there any reason they shouldn't be like that? I.E. reduced support or wind resistnace or taking flight? FYI if my flux capacitor was acting up, it wouldn't just be flying at 88mph...

My most recent addition to the 4R was a OEM roof rack purchased from a salvage yard. During my search at the yard, I found an additional cross bar. Ended up getting all of it for $60. I really like the look of the three bars, gives a custom feel with stock products. I coated the whole rack with...

Again, I used RustOleum. Picked up High Performance Wheel paint from AutoZone. Graphite. My buddy sparked idea and it matches the cladding pretty well. I like the two-tone color only look. And remember painting is always better with a Keystone in hand!

Sweet. I just got my runner in feb. A high mileage beast that's looking for its third wind. Have you found trails yet? I hear north Austin has it. Like you a year ago, I too am looking to pop that cherry. How was it?

Fixed the thread with embedded photos.... plus new additions! So, I purchased my new to me 4Runner on Feb 6th. Since then I have been busy making both cosmetic and performance mods and maintenance (although the majority have been cosmetic). The main bell and whistle with the runner was a...
