only went in gear after I after i pushed multi mode. Before it just revved. I pushed multi mode again to turn it off and the truck still moved and shifted as normal the rest of the day

Its there in the pic. 4 plugs 5 plug ins, or so it appears. In fact in the picture the plug touching your index finger is the clock plug. There is a dummy plug in just below the clock. Whoever took your dash apart last plugged it in the dummy plug not the clock. Don't ask me how I know this...

I used a fog light switch (got it on Ebay for like 6.00) and made this label. Glued it on switch and then covered with several coats of clear poly. 2 years and still looking good

Has the factory amp been removed? It sorta sounds like your wiring to the amp, not around it. you should be wiring to the harness this plugs into. Bypass this amp all together. Sorry for the upside down photo
