    Thieves strike the 4runner...

    Isn't there a glass-break sensor in the 3rd gen 4runners? I thought it was this thing with the holes: I can set mine off by closing the loud heavy-duty "snap" latches on a Pelican-case if the alarm is armed and all the windows/doors are closed.

    Timing belt job question

    You would have to crank the starter constantly for a long duration of time to overheat it. To loosen the crank bolt you just need 1 quick jolt for a split second so there is no overheating concern whatsoever.

    Did the same thing with a cheap breaker-bar on my 97 and it worked great. Next to zero effort. I left the radiator in and had no issues. You still need a proper bought/made tool to re-torqure it to 217 ft lbs.

    Replacement spark plug wire guides/clips?

    Does anyone know where I can get the clips that guide the spark plug wires and attach to the timing belt cover? Both mine are broken. I tried google searching for a part number but couldn't come up with anything.

    I leave it on all the time. I find the shifts feel sluggish if I turn it off.

    D'oh! Dropped my Crankshaft Pulley

    I had the same exact thing happen to me when I was doing my timing belt job. I tried to bend it back but it just broke off. I ended up filing it down a bit and just using it again. It's been 6 months now and there is no visible damage to the belt. I'm not necessarily recommending this...
