Dog in the Runner...
I've got one, a multi-colored cocker spaniel named Kimo. Loves riding around but eventually just ends up sleeping in the back seat. That's him in my avatar.
Child seat in center
After reading through this thread and the one linked to I've come to the conclusion that no one seems to know the "real" answer if there even is one.
I've been placing my child seat in the center ever since my daughter was born (20 months now) and using the two inner...
Note that the article states "participating owners." If you don't want it, don't sign up for it.
Although, I do agree that it is a little shameless on the part of Toyota/Lexus.
Lower gas prices
Can't believe CA has lower prices than UT. We just started to dip below $4/gal this week. And even then I've only seen one station that was less than $4 and it happened to be $3.999.
You gotta love it when the national average is $0.22 less than what you're paying locally.
Funky radio
Well, formely from the Denver area. I now live just north of Salt Lake City.
Anyhoo, took my Runner to Go Toyota (formerly John Elway Toyota) on Arapahoe Rd. just east of I-25. My service rep was always top notch and never had a complaint.
Radio issues
Did the display look anything like this?

If that link doesn't work, do a search for "fiunky radio display" from me and it will come up.
I ended up taking a picture with the cell camera and showed it to the dealer...
Lower prices?
Just filled up on Monday for $4.07/gal. Better than the $4.19 it was a week ago though.
I went back and looked at my gas records from when I first bought my Runner (May '06) and gas was $2.72/gal and it even dipped down to as low as $1.96/gal in Feb. '07. Man, those were the...
New beater
Funny that I saw this thread today. My wife and I are looking at getting a beater this weekend. We'll be keeping the T4R but selling her CR-V. Looking to get a late 90's/early 2000's Civic that gets mid to high 30's on the MPG. We'll be able to pay off the CR-V and cover the cost of...
$100+ fill up?
Not yet. Dropped $77 into the ol' tank this past weekend ($4.039/gal). Give it another month or so and I'm sure I'll be hitting close to the triple digits. Been a while since I had to fill it up too since the wife has been driving it. Definitely a little shocked when I heard the...
Gas @ $5/gal
Not sure what I'd do. My wife and I have already switched vehicles for our daily driving (I drive the CR-V, she drives the T4R). The lease on the T4R is over next May so we may just turn it in and walk away. But who knows what the dealer will try to ding me on in order to drive...
Cracked windshield
I received a "star" this past winter in my windshield courtesy of the Utah Hwy Department (they love to use large chuncks of sand in the winter). The "star" was right in front of the drivers seat and eventually it cracked all the way to the passenger A-pillar. I had it...
Driveline clunk
I had my driveshaft replaced at 2500 miles because of the clunk. I was able to point out the Lexus TSB and able to duplicate the clunk to my service rep and he had no problem replacing the drive shaft at no charge. However, when the clunk was still there after the drive shaft...
too long...
Had the first car for 9 yrs and 180,000+ miles (used '85 Civic) and the second one for 12 yrs and 180,000+ miles (new '94 Beretta Z26). Got the Runner in '06 and am hoping to keep it around for the same or longer.
My wife has a group of ladies over for a scrap booking night. One of them just said that her Montero is the same as my 4Runer! The only thing that's the same is that it's a hunk of metal on 4 wheels.
Some people...
