Definitely check for a vaccume leak. Usually its easy to listen for one. But even the silent and minor vaccume eaks will cause phantom idle issues along with gas milage woes.

But for those Toyotas to be out front they had to traded in for a Mitsubishi....Or bought at auction. But auction vehicles arent usually nice enough to make front row. They were probably traded in for a new Mitsubishi. Meaning someone preferred a new Mitsubishi over the FJ and 4th Gen.
My interior is indeed grey, and complete, pretty harshly stained though.....guy must have been a mechanic that took his work home frequently....
