    Wrong Plugs

If they won't hurt anything I may just leave them in. I have a limited amount of time to work on it during the winter and would rather spend the time dealing with some rear axle rust.

I am doing the steering bushings, cheap enough that it would be silly not to. I'll add outer tie rod ends to the list, but they'll come later. The ones on there appear to be in good shape and the LBJ is more important. It's definitely an external trans cooler. Made my day.

    Wrong Plugs

So, even though the previous owned had the plugs changed only 15k ago, I decided to check them out while I was cleaning the throttle body. Low and behold, there were Denso PK16TT plugs in there, which are not dual ground. Could this have caused any damage? Yes, I'm replacing them before I...

Looking at some more pictures, I think you're right. I didn't realize all the picture I was looking at of external coolers had them installed in front of the ac condenser, effectively hiding it from view.

    Non OEM fuel filter

I'll go with something non oem then. I'd rather change it again in 30k miles than pay 50 for a fuel filter. We just aren't going to put that many miles on it.

To clarify, are you asking if its as tall as the radiator?

    Non OEM fuel filter

Was going to change my fuel filter this weekend but our local dealer didn't have one in stock. Are the filters from the local advance of acceptable quality? I've noticed for many parts, the opinion on this forum is OEM or it's a waste of money. Didn't know if that applied here.

Little surprise when I was taking a closer look at the radiator today. There appears to already be an external trans cooler hooked up. That is unless there's a smaller black radiator that normally sits in front of the stock one. It was raining and cold so I didn't get on the ground to trace the...

Just picked up my first 4Runner

Thanks all. I'm in Charlottesville. I am thinking I should do the lower ball joints soon. They seem to be in good shape, but they are the original ones. If I can track down the tools, it looks like something I can do myself.

Just picked up my first 4Runner

I just bought my first 4Runner today. After lots of reading and getting some solid advice from the good folks on this forum. '98 Limited w/223k w/factory rear locker. All the correct major maintenance done. New rear springs, new rotors, new tires (exactly tires I would have bought also)...

    Reasonable Price?

Think I found the one I'm going for. Going to check it out to make sure it's all good tomorrow. '98 Limited with 220k. Rebuilt tranny, good tires, all appropriate maintenance done, factory rear locker, all other options. $3800

I dont care for the snorkel either. A well taken care of vehicle is most important for me though.

    Reasonable Price?

Noted. I avoided fun cars with engine mods under similar logic, didn't know if it applied here as well.

    Reasonable Price?

If five grand would take it, I'd probably go for it. Even though 3" lift is more than I would choose and the tires are more aggressive than I would purchase.

    Reasonable Price?

Thanks. My preference is to find something stock, but most of the stock ones I've found so far have been either neglected to some extent (drove a '99 with 234k on the original clutch yesterday), or severely overpriced given their mileage. I'm taking a look at this one simply because it's well...
