I checked my notes... The Pin 12 to Pin 18 jumper is required to get the MIC to work properly. This is probably not related to the Voice wiring through the AMP.

By the way, the Harmon/Becker JBL AMP in...
With your description as best as I can tell, you have added the correct shielded differential wire pair to the amp to drive the voice over the left drivers door speaker. I would suggest adding the Mic and button. I don't know if this makes a difference, but I did all of this at the same time...
In my opinion, buy the T4R with the NAVIGATION. You will like it! The OEM 5th Gen nav system (E7008) are really nice and this would be covered with OEM warranty for 3 years. If you are willing to spend $699 to get JBL, then spend the $2450 to get the Nav. Which is really only $1750 more...
People have had problems using the Solara "E7009" HU with RSE. It appears that it is not wired internally to the connector like a factory 4Runner "E7008" HU is. Search the forums and you'll find discussion on this.

Hey Casper,
What were some of the issues you had with installing the Volant CAI? Sounds like fitment was an issue?!? Did the kit have the wrong parts or what? Thanks.
I understand your question. I was referring to the wires between the HU and Amp which is called the differential wire pair with shield (IVO+ -> INT+, IVO- -> INT-, & SLD1). The amp controls what is driven to the driver's door so wires to this speaker does not need to be changed or added, just...
Speed sensor is used to lock out a variety of functions on the E7009 Display screen when moving. Example, you can't input a destination or dial a phone number by a number (only speed dial works when moving). Best way to test is to go to DEST screen when stopped and start moving. Some...
I can speak for a 2006 Limited 4runner that I just completed a full install from a JBL 6 Disc to a E7009 Nav HU including all Voice activation functions and rearview camera.
No connector is available for the amp connection to drive the voice to the drivers door speaker. Here is some text that...
This may be a little late, but I have a '06 Limited 4Runner that started with a OEM JBL 6 Disc and Now has a OEM 5th Gen Nav HU. This has a 4 disc changer and supports MP3/WMA. Also, all 10 speakers work since they are driven by the AMP located in the rear right quarter panel. This AMP does...
Hi, I just finished installing a E7009 HU from OEMValue in my '06 limited 4Runner a couple of days ago. The Unit was working flawless for a couple of days and now I am having intermittent issues with Bluetooth. I am using a OEM T4R factory mic in the overhead console and I ran the 2+shield...
Hi Bluemotev,
If you are still linger around in this forum, could you clarify something from an earlier post. Did you end up getting the factory mic to work or did you go with the Toyota Japanese type MIC that OEMVALUE recommends?
Did you ever figure out what the unused blue plug in the...
